MACRA through Universal Service Fund MACRA has donated 31 motorcycles worth K198 million to Malawi Posts Corporation for their district offices to improve the delivery of mail to the rural and hard-to-reach areas.
The motorcycles will ensure the quality of service of basic postal services and accelerate the conveyance of mail to rural and underserved areas.
The USF is one of the major Information and Communication Technology (ICT) drivers for promoting access and usage of communication services.
The Fund was set up to finance various projects which will be implemented across the broadcasting, telecommunications, and postal sectors of the country, to address access and service gaps persisting in the sectors.
